The interior of Fontal is pale cream in colour with a fat content of 45%. The cheese is very rich and creamy which gets nuttier with ageing. This versatile cheese can be used to make fondues and similar Italian dishes. Pairs well with red wine, wild cherry and truffles.
Usage: Fontina is used as a table cheese, served with bread or crackers. It is also commonly melted on pastas and sandwiches or in soups and may be used as a topping on pizza.
